Reptiles

Fairfax County is home to a diverse range of reptiles, a class of animals that includes: Lizards, snakes, and turtles.

NOTE: Unlikely to occur - No credible reports, sightings or specimens from Fairfax County in recent history (mid-20th century to present). Timber rattlesnakes require hibernaculum habitat to survive each winter.  The closest suitable habitat is along Bull Run Mountain in western Prince William County.
